Spirit Fashion Show 2018

SPIRIT fashion show (SFS) has been a presence on the Carnegie Mellon campus for 31 years. As an outlet for students on campus to perform, design, and model, this show was the very first and longest running fashion show in campus history. Under the umbrella of SPIRIT, a multicultural organization, SFS is unique in that our idea of fashion and what deserves to be displayed is not limited by social norms of the times, but by individuality.
As a fashion show that continues to improve its creative and visual side every year, it is important for us to continue making interesting stages to showcase model choreography that reflects the theme of the show each year. In our 31st years, we are bigger and better than ever in terms of having an extremely diverse eboard, number of models, number of designers, and performers. We want a stage that represents that diversity: a stage that makes a bold statement. We are asking for help in fundraising $2,000 for this stage so that we can continue to give a unique platform for models, designers, and performers to display their art to the Pittsburgh community.
Last year, we made the decision to help fund student designers, who up until this point have been paying out of pocket for their lines upwards of $200. We understood that the amount of money we gave them, no matter how big or small it was, really made a difference in helping the designers fulfill their designs without hindering their creativity. This year, we wanted to also focus on the stage so to not hinder the creativity of the models and better allow designers to showcase their works from different angles. Your contributions to our stage will truly benefit the students who have had practices once a week since November and designers who have been working since last semester to perfect their art. Any contributions are appreciated to the highest degree.
