CMU Rowing 2018
Carnegie Mellon University Rowing Club has been out rowing the Allegheny for over 30 years. Currently, we are a team of over 30 rowers and coxswains. We practice six days a week, getting on the water before 6 am in the fall and spring. In the winter, when the weather prevents us from water practice, we continue our training indoors, weightlifting and erging. We race in about 3 races in both the fall and spring seasons, facing other colleges, some of which are varsity programs.
Recently we needed to repair the boat used by our varsity women's four. For this, we are asking for $4500. This is the primary focus of our project. In addition, our bay has recently flooded, and its repair would help the team be better equipped for the racing season. This would cost $1500. Any extra funds raised will be used for travel and races.
We are a club sport at the university, so we do not receive the same funding as varsity programs. Instead, we are grateful for the contributions from friends, family, and alumni to help offset costs on our rowers. As college students, we are often busy meeting the rigorous workload of Carnegie Mellon, so your donations take a lot of stress out of our lives. Boat and bay repairs are vital to keeping our team running smoothly. Your support means so much to our team!
