CMU Figure Skating Club to Host First Intercollegiate Competition
The CMU Figure Skating Club has come a long way since competing in our first intercollegiate competition in November of 2015. Since then, the club has over tripled in size from four to 13 skaters. This upcoming March, the CMU Figure Skating Club will host its first intercollegiate competition at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex!
With this crowdfunding campaign, our goal is to raise $6,000 to cover part of the cost of rink rental for our competition.
Hosting this intercollegiate competition is an opportunity for our team to compete on home ice and the Carnegie Mellon community to attend one of our competitions, which is unprecedented. Furthermore, this competition will be unlike any other intercollegiate competition as it will include the official practice facility of the Pittsburgh Penguins, competition merchandise for sale, and a live competition app to update skaters, coaches, and spectators of event schedule changes and results in real-time.
