World Stage Design (WSD) is about individual designs by talented and critical thinking designers from all around the world. The students of the CMU School of Drama have the opportunity to meet with these designers, attend workshops given by them, see up to 125 performances that these theatre makers have worked on, and some even have research that requires them to talk to as many people from around the world as they can in the 9 days of the exposition.
Where is it?
WSD is in Taipei this year, and it likely won't ever be there again, since WSD happens every four years and rotates around the world. This is a groundbreaking opportunity for our educations and careers.
The money we raise will go to funding our flights to Taipei. A flight costs anywhere between $800 and $1200, so our $10,000 goal will help fund about 10 round-trip tickets, depending on where each of us originate. Alternatively our $10,000 goal will cover most or all of the room and board costs for the 17 students who intend to go. Anything we raise above our goal will be given to the students who need it most, and if we reach more than one of our stretch goals, we'll be able to finance educational visits to museums, and see performances outside the festival while we're there.
Please use the levels at the right as a guide, but know that every little bit helps.
