Heinz Internship Opportunity Fund
For decades, the Internship Opportunity Fund (IOF) has catalyzed careers of the next generation of public servants by providing financial support for student internships, particularly in low-paying or no-paying industries. Students often transition to full time employment with their internship organization after graduation.
What does the Heinz IOF provide?
All of the funds raised for the IOF will be distributed to graduate students as living allowances to support them during their summer internship. Funds help cover relocation, housing and other basic living expenses.
The average IOF award is between $500 and $4,000 per student. In a typical year, the IOF supports 25 students, but more assistance will be needed this summer as a result of COVID-19’s impact on the workforce.
Impact of your support
This year, due to the suddenly bleak employment situation that students face, the IOF has become even more important for Heinz students. Our community’s investment in our current students is critical and will have an immediate impact. This is the only initiative for which the college is currently asking for support.
All gifts to the IOF are magnified by a dollar for dollar match by the Heinz College.
