Delta Gamma Buggy
Delta Gamma Racing established an all women-led buggy team that acts to empower and inspire, as historically it has been a fraternity-led sport. After 20+ years without any women-led teams, we are working to move buggy into the next 100 years of its existence. Our two chairmen are both double buggy legacies, with both of their parents having been drivers and pushers for CMU buggy teams. Establishing Delta Gamma Racing has been exciting, educational, and fun!
There is a large financial hurdle to surmount as a new team without funding. We are currently borrowing a buggy that was built in 2001, called Brazen, which needs multiple repairs such as new wheels. We also need new safety gear like helmets and glasses. We are taking part in CMU Crowdfunding to begin to build our own buggy, without having to rely on a 20-year old buggy. All donations are extremely appreciated to help cover these costs.
This women-led team is not only created for the members of Delta Gamma, but the CMU campus community as a whole and for all of the CMU alumni. Our team is ecstatic to spark increased inclusion within this sport and we hope you join us in celebrating Buggy's centennial! Please help support our efforts in forming a women-led buggy team, and we hope to see you at race day!
