The Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Software Research (REUSE) program brings undergrads from other universities to CMU for the summer to do research with our world-class faculty members. The goal is to have maximum impact on the students that participate, many of whom are under-represented in our field. We therefore select students that we believe will have a positive and transformative experience and not by a ranking of the "quality" of their existing resumes. This program has become exceedingly popular – this year, we’re on pace for over 500 applicants for our 25-35 spots. A number of REUSE alumni have gone on to top PhD programs, including CMU, Berkeley, and the University of Washington, and have published papers in major conferences.
Donors to this crowdfunding project will help bring more students into the program. Every $5000 raised will cover the housing, meals, and travel expenses for one student to attend. How many students can we provide this opportunity to? You can help us find out!
