Mark Stehlik Scholarship
Thanks to the overwhelming response from the SCS community to this project, we’ve added another stretch goal of $33,000.
Mark's 3000th student
At this year's SCS undergraduate diploma ceremony, Teaching Professor and Assistant Dean for Outreach Mark Stehlik will watch as his 3,000th advisee crosses the stage. To commemorate this incredible academic and career milestone, we’re asking SCS alumni, parents and friends to contribute to this endowed scholarship fund in honor of Mark and his amazing impact on an entire generation of SCS alumni.
About the Mark Stehlik SCS Alumni Undergraduate Impact Endowed Scholarship
The Mark Stehlik SCS Alumni Undergraduate Impact Endowed Scholarship recognizes and supports SCS undergraduates whose reach for excellence extends beyond the classroom — students working to make a difference in both the field of computer science and the world around them. The SCS Alumni Advisory Board created the fund in 2015 to encourage SCS undergraduates to increase their engagement in research and community service, and to reach beyond their courses and grades. The fund, which continues to grow thanks to our amazing alumni, shows the best and brightest SCS students that the community supports their tireless efforts to excel in all they do. And it’s appropriately named for Stehlik, who has been a tireless force for encouraging a generation of students to shine in computer science, extracurricular activities and life. So far, there have been four beneficiaries of the Stehlik Scholarship. You can read about this year's recipient on our news website.
