About Us
Alumni from around the world form volunteer networks with other alumni, students, parents and friends to build and maintain connections with each other and with CMU. Regardless of where you live, where you work or whatever you like to do, you can tap into one or more of our volunteer-led networks. We invite all of our Tartans to join our global community for events, virtually, hybrid and in-person, wherever you live and work.
Our Project
As part of Spring Carnival and the Virtual 5K, support your network as our teams go head-to-head in the Virtual 5K giving challenge. The more donors that make gifts to your network fund, the further your group will lead in the challenge! Your gift of any amount goes directly to our Student Food Insecurity Fund to help our students in need. Be sure to share the link and tell all of your friends! As an added incentive, if your network wins the challenge, we’ll send* you a prize pack with two of our popular CMUAA drink koozies and other CMU swag!
*For our international participants: your giveaway will be hand-delivered by our colleagues when they travel to your country.
Why Contribute
CMU's volunteers and networks are integral to creating connections with each other and to the university. This year, in conjunction with the Virtual 5K, we are asking Tartans in our regional networks to make a gift to support the students at CMU who are in the most need. Your gift will directly support the Student Food Insecurity Fund and the CMU Pantry. The CMU Pantry is committed to reducing hunger among students by providing nutritious food at no cost. They serve our student community with accessible food resources to promote a healthier, balanced university experience. While the CMU Pantry does receive some funding and administrative support from the Division of Student Affairs, it is ultimately run by students. This is a great way for our networks to show their Tartan Pride and give back to the CMU community through the Student Food Insecurity Fund.
