Rent Help PGH and Eviction Rapid Response Technology Support
About Us
RentHelpPGH and Eviction Rapid Response, a collaborative project of the Hill District Consensus Group, Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation, the Community Justice Project and other community organizations, help stabilize Allegheny County's most vulnerable residents.
The CREATE Lab is a community technology empowerment lab at CMU. We empower community organizations to fulfill their missions more effectively through working with them to expand their technological capabilities. We have been working with RentHelpPGH and Eviction Rapid Response on technology platforms which allow them to more effectively collaborate and engage with vulnerable households, particularly those who have been impacted by COVID-19 and are experiencing eviction.
Our Project
Eviction Rapid Response identifies households facing eviction and reaches out to them, informs them of their rights and connects them with RentHelpPGH. RentHelpPGH and affiliated community organizations help them identify resources such as rental and utility assistance, legal assistance, food assistance and broader services such as childcare, healthcare, and job training.
These systems require the use of commercial services for online call tracking, databases, and other technological pieces needed to tie it all together. We need you to help cover these costs, allowing the community groups to prioritize their funding to support their direct work with households in need.
Why Contribute
RentHelpPGH and Eviction Rapid Response assist thousands of Allegheny County's most vulnerable residents. Through these efforts, families connect to someone who compassionately helps them understand and navigate available services and systems. We provide navigators with a platform to effectively track each family's needs, and the steps they have taken to access services and programs. This allows community organizations to quantify how many families they are serving and in which ways, and better advocate for funding and policy changes. Please contribute to building a more equitable Allegheny County that will allow all our neighbors to thrive.
