Our project 🌙
Carnegie Mellon is going to the Moon. The culmination of many years, hundreds of individuals and too many hours to count has brought us to this pivotal moment in history where we will launch two lunar rovers over the next two years. Success will depend on a number of factors, one of which is outfitting a Mission Control Center where mission critical operations will be monitored. With this campaign, we turn to this much needed Mission Control Center, which will be located right here at CMU.
Your contribution
Please join us on our journey to explore the high frontier by making a gift to support CMU's Mission Control. Contributions in any amount are appreciated, and we’re offering the following opportunities to play your part:
- Up to $100: one of our rovers will carry your name to the Moon
- $100 or more: your customized message of up to 100 characters will travel with your name (messages will be reviewed prior to launch and any inappropriate content will be excluded)
- $1,000 or more: you will be honored on a group plaque of recognition inside the Mission Control Center
- $5,000 or more: you will earn naming rights for one of the operator workstations
Our team will reach out to donors each week to confirm personal recognition details, including what name you'd like to send to the Moon..
We need your help
Carnegie Mellon's rover and spacecraft teams have identified a location on campus for a mission control center, but it will need significant upgrades to be mission-ready in time to go to the moon.
